Jeff has been active in the mineral and petroleum industry since he was old enough to listen. He grew up in BC’s south-central interior and routinely accompanied his geologist farther on traverse for work and play. Prospecting, exploring and overall fascination with the natural world led to a degree in Earth and Ocean Science from the University of Victoria in 2007.  His various field appointments over the past 18 years have spanned junior and mid-tier exploration companies as well as the BC Geological Survey and the BC Ministry of Mines. Jeff’s career thus far has taken him throughout British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Australia. His experience spans grassroots exploration to deposit delineation for precious and base metals. Prior to his appointment at AWX he served five years as the Regional Geologist for the BC Government responsible for regional oversight of all exploration and mining projects in northwestern BC as well as contributions to BC Geological Surveys annual Geological Fieldwork. Jeff’s most significant contribution to the exploration community may be the “Red Line” map initially presented at the 2013 Society of Economic Geology conference in Whistler which indicates almost all significant copper-gold deposits in northern BC are located with 2 km of the Hazelton-Stuhini contact, an active concept in current use by multiple companies today.
